Brown Sugar and Kinako Amazake

To ensure the brown sugar mixes evenly, crush it with a knife and dissolve it in a small amount of hot water before adding it to the amazake. Enjoy it warm or chilled.

  • Ingredients

    • Kojiya Satomura Amazake (made from rice and rice koji): 150ml (5 fl oz)
    • Brown sugar: 1 piece
    • Kinako (roasted soybean flour): to taste
    • Hot water: 1 tablespoon
  • Preparation

    • Crush the brown sugar into small pieces using a knife and dissolve it in hot water.
    • Mix the dissolved brown sugar with the amazake, then add kinako to taste. Enjoy warm or chilled as desired.

Notes

If you cannot find amazake, you can substitute with a sweet rice drink, though the flavor may differ.
